With the last season of Lost upon us, many questions are being answered but more are created.

Its commercials have declaring Lost a "global phenomenon," and whether or not you disagree with that statement you have to admit that Lost is definitely a show that has taken most of your neighbors and classmates lives by storm. This past week marked the airing of the final season with a promise to have our questions answered. Warning: This article is spoiler-ific. Read at your own risk.

The first season introduced us to the survivors of a horrendous plane crash, Oceanic Flight 815, that left them stranded on an island in the Pacific. Forced to band together to survive, they soon realize that the island is "unique" and that they are not alone. Many died and an equal amount vanished without a trace. The second season focused on the history of the island the mysterious hatch that the survivors had found. While we spent the majority of the first and second season learning about the survivors and the hatch, we spent the third season exploring who "The Others" were. Introduced in the first season, after abducting children from crash, we learned that The Others are a seemingly native group of inhabitants that are not too fond of the survivors' presence on the island and thus they soon begin to clash. The fourth season introduced the freighter. While the survivors and The Others continued to dispute, a freighter arrived seemingly wanting to rescue the survivors of the Oceanic 815. However, it soon became apparent that they had ulterior motives. The freighter had promised to bring some survivors back to civilization but before anything could be done, it was blown up and the island vanished. That's right, it vanished.

Last season introduced fans to the concept of time travel in the Lost universe. The island hadn't vanished but rather was skipping through time thanks to the actions of some of the inhabitants. This left the survivors who were headed to the freighter for rescue stranded in our time and the rest that were left behind were stuck in time limbo. By the end of the season most of the survivors of Oceanic 815 had returned to the island, thanks partly to a mysterious spiritual force originating from the island. The season ended with watchers learning that the only way to save themselves from the future that had put them there in the first place was to detonate an atomic bomb. The detonation and a white light was how last season ended.

This season's premiere answered a number of questions but at the same time raised even more (surprise right?). I'd rather not give specific details on what happened as a reviews purpose isn't to recap. Hoever, the premiere answered more questions than it raised. We finally have a grasp on the monsters of the island and where the spiritual aspects meet up with the more practical aspects of the island. Everything seems to be falling into place. The forces that have been at work on the island are far bigger than we have ever thought. It seems to be simply a matter of time before all of our questions are answered.

If the past five seasons have been build up to this massive climax, I am holding my breath and waiting for a clash of godly proportions.
